Many people thought this would be a big year for Boone Jenner, and those who made such a prediction have (thus far) looked prophetic.

But man, what a start for the 19-year-old. The Oshawa Generals were widely considered to have a strong club in 2012-13 with the addition of top prospect Tyler Biggs, and another year of maturity from Jenner and teammate Scott Laughton, a first-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers.

They have wasted no time in getting into high gear. After a season-opening split with Peterborough and Sudbury, the Generals have won three consecutive games and Jenner has been at the heart of the streak.

Not only has Oshawa won three straight, but all three came during the same weekend. "Three in threes" might be one of the most challenging aspects of junior and minor pro hockey, but the Generals won their home opener Friday night at General Motors Centre to get the ball rolling.

Jenner picked up two assists on Friday, setting up Biggs' first goal of the season just three minutes into the second period. His second helper came early in the third period on Michael Dal Colle's first of the year.

The 5-1 win over the Petes was as much-needed as it was dominating, as the Generals got out to an early 2-0 lead and never trailed in the hockey game.

Oshawa was the home-opener guest of the Belleville Bulls the next night, and it was definitely an energetic game. Top goalie prospect Malcolm Subban (Boston Bruins) made the start for Belleville, but surrendered an early first period goal to Scott Sabourin for a 1-0 Generals lead.

Jenner continued his hot streak in the second period by converting a pass from Dal Colle to boost Oshawa's lead to 2-1, but he would be heard from again before the second period was over.

With the Generals on a power play late in the middle frame, Jenner tallied his second of the game with 33 seconds to go in the period. That goal gave Oshawa a 3-1 lead heading into the second intermission, and with a 5-2 final score, eventually stood as the game-winner.

The last stop on the three game weekend tour was back home at General Motors Centre in Oshawa, where the Generals would play their second home game of the season against Brampton. Jenner potted a pair of goals in a 7-4 rout of the Battalion, and was one of three Generals to record a multi-goal game (along with Biggs and Lucas Lessio).

During the club's three-game winning streak, Jenner has put up eight total points and now occupies the OHL scoring lead (7-5-12 in 5 GP). The Generals lead the OHL's East Division with a 4-1-0 record and have the league's best goal differential (+11), markedly better than next-best Owen Sound.

The better news for Oshawa: they're entering a home-friendly part of the schedule. The Generals play the next three games at GM Centre, including a Canadian Thanksgiving matinee against Belleville on Monday afternoon.

So far, so good for Jenner and crew. They're healthy, they're scoring a lot of goals, and they have received quality goaltending when needed. It's a long road ahead, but they have started on the right path in the season's first fortnight.
