4:15 P.M. -- As part of our trip to Springfield a few days back, we spent time with some of the Blue Jackets' top prospects playing for the Falcons. One of them is defenseman Tim Erixon, who was acquired over the summer in a trade with the New York Rangers and is playing very well for the Falcons.

Check out Tim's prospect profile, courtesy of JacketsTV:

4:00 P.M. -- We caught up with Blue Jackets senior advisor (and Hockey Hall of Famer) Craig Patrick recently to talk about Springfield's strong start and what he likes about this year's Falcons club.

You can catch his exclusive comments right here on JacketsTV:

3:00 P.M. -- Welcome back to the BlueJackets.com game day blog, where we cover all things Springfield Falcons all the way through the end of the game. It has been quite a start for Springfield, which holds a 4-1-0 record for the first time in the team's 19-year history after a 3-0 win last night in Providence.

It wasn't the prettiest of wins last night, but they all count the same. Curtis McElhinney was terrific in making 33 saves and keeping his team steady between the pipes. The Falcons killed off a 5-on-3 in the first period and seemed to grab momentum from there, getting a two-man advantage goal of their own from Nick Drazenovic just minutes later.

Ryan Russell scored his first goal of the year in his season debut, and it gave Springfield a 2-0 lead in the second period. Cam Atkinson made it a three-goal advantage with a rebound goal in the third period, and the Falcons' defense held the fort the rest of the way.

To kick things off on today's game day blog, let's check out Brad Larsen's post-game comments from last night courtesy of our friends at JacketsTV:
