It\'s a \"hockey night\" in Erie!

ERIE, PA -- For the first time since they were selected by the Blue Jackets in the NHL Draft, Boone Jenner and Oscar Dansk will go head-to-head.

Tonight's game at the Erie Insurance Arena does not hold playoff implications nor will it determine the fate of either club for the duration of the season, but both guys will have a little extra adrenaline running as the game gets under way.

Jenner is coming off another stellar performance in the CHL Subway Super Series, where he served as captain for Team OHL on Thursday night in Guelph, Ont. After a pair of disappointing losses to the Russians to start the series, the OHL notched the first win for the Canadian side at Sleeman Centre. Jenner was a key contributor at both ends of the rink for Team OHL, which continues the Super Series on Monday night in Sarnia.

A day after his Super Series debut, Jenner rejoined his Oshawa Generals teammates to play the Barrie Colts on Friday night. They battled back twice to pull within a goal (and Jenner scored a pair), but the Colts countered with two crucial goals of their own as they went on to win 5-3 at General Motors Centre.

Entering tonight's game, the Generals hold a four-point lead atop the OHL's East Division as the Belleville Bulls lurk in the shadows. Oshawa is five points behind Barrie for first place in the Eastern Conference, and tonight's game against an Otters club they've had recent success against is their immediate focus.

Here are some other storylines we're tracking tonight:

-- Dansk has been making a ton of saves for the Otters this season (an average of over 35 per game). It will be interesting to see how the Generals come out of the game and test the young goaltender; they've had a knack of getting teams back on their heels early and we could see more of that tonight.

-- Erie hasn't defeated the Generals since 2010-11; Oshawa won both contests between the two sides last year and the Generals are 2-1-0 in their last three games at Erie Insurance Arena.

-- Connor McDavid is a name to watch and we'll be doing so. The 15-year-old phenom is the talk of the OHL this season and many have him on the path to NHL stardom, and he's off to a good start in his OHL career. McDavid's put up 10-14-24 in 19 games this season and is one point off the team lead.

-- McDavid is also the OHL's leading rookie scorer by five points entering tonight.

Check back for more during and after the game!
