ON-ICE GALLERY

9:59 -- That's a winner! #CBJ beat Edmonton 4-3 in a shootout! Watch the team walk to the dressing room after the win!

9:45 P.M. -- BOOM! JACKETS WIN!

WATCH POST GAME PRESS CONFERENCE

9:24 P.M. -- Our on-ice action PHOTO GALLERY is now LIVE. Check out shots like this:

9:05 P.M. -- The Blue Jackets have started the final period strong, killing a pair of Oilers power plays and looking pretty sharp and confident on the first penalty. Still about half the third period left to go, though, and it's a 3-3 deadlock.

8:57 P.M. -- We've updated our PHOTO GALLERY yet again! Ch, ch, ch, ch, ch, check it out!

8:30 P.M. -- I've really liked the Blue Jackets' game as the second period has drawn along. They got the game-tying goal from Jack Johnson off a sweet dish from behind the net by Derick Brassard, and JJ went top-shelf for his second of the year. But Columbus has spent a lot of time in the Oilers' end of the rink - especially in the second period - and they've responded well to Mason being pulled in favor of Sergei Bobrovsky early in the frame. As I type this, the Blue Jackets hold a 24-12 shots on goal advantage in this 3-3 tie.

8:28 P.M. -- @cbjradio with the call of Jack Johnson's game tying goal!

8:19 P.M. -- BOOM! Jackets 3, Oilers 3

8:19 P.M. - Highlights are in of Derek MacKenzie's and Vinny Prospal's first-period goals:

BOOOOOO!!!!

8:01 P.M. -- Our in-game photo gallery has been updated with the first batch of photos from the first period of action.

7:53 P.M. -- Vinny Prospal talks with @MarkWyant during the first intermission.

7:45 P.M. -- FIRST PERIOD ANALYSIS: We're even at 2-2 after an eventful first period at Nationwide Arena, and the Blue Jackets hold a 14-7 shots on goal edge through 20 minutes. The Oilers, as we mentioned earlier, got the scoring started on Jeff Petry's third goal of the year just over four minutes into the game. Columbus answered back with two straight tallies, first from Derek MacKenzie and then getting the lead goal from Vinny Prospal -- his team-leading ninth goal of the season. The most unlikely scenario of the first period was Matt Calvert fighting Jeff Petry, and though Calvert earned the decision, he was given a game misconduct at 14:24 for not having his jersey tied down. So, the Blue Jackets will play a forward short the rest of the way but they've played a confident game to this point.

7:43 P.M. -- BOOM! @cbjradio and @BobbyMacSports with the call of Prospal's PP goal to give the Jackets a 2-1 lead!

7:32 P.M. -- CBJ fans are enjoying our free food night for PSL holders here at Nationwide Arena tonight! How do you become a PSL holder? Glad you asked... CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

7:30 P.M. -- Jackets 1, Edmonton 1

7:10 P.M. -- We're under way at Nationwide Arena between the Blue Jackets and Edmonton Oilers. As I just mentioned on Twitter, Columbus needs to be sharp in the early going as Edmonton coach Ralph Krueger has not been happy with his team's play the past few games. They've blown a couple leads and let the third period in Minnesota get away from them, and I expect a much better "team" game from the visitors tonight.

7:07 P.M. -- We have the Boeringer Ingelheim Coolest Scientists in the building!

    2:33 P.M. -- CBJ's young defense excels, Brass/JJ return & much more in today's edition of "Overheard"

The Blue Jackets were back at Nationwide Arena this morning to prepare for their game against the Edmonton Oilers at 7 p.m. tonight. The Blue Jackets last met the Oilers on Feb. 10 at home, a contest they lost 3-1 despite outshooting their opponents by a 40-14 margin. They hope to win tonight and earn their first back-to-back wins of the season.

1:51 P.M. -- Jack Johnson speaks with Bob McElligott before tonight's game against Edmonton.

1:50 P.M. -- Derick Brassard speaks with Bob McElligott before tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers.

1:44 P.M. -- Jack Johnson has a message for all of us...

12:15 P.M. -- Oilers LW Taylor Hall, who has missed time due to a hamstring problem, will play tonight against the Blue Jackets. Newly-acquired Mike Brown also draws in, and Blue Jackets fans should be on the lookout for Brown to mix it up. He's intense, likes to get involved and has been known to sport an impeccable mustache.

Oh, by the way, here's how the Blue Jackets will line up tonight:

    Calvert - Anisimov - Atkinson
    Umberger - Johansen - Foligno
    Prospal - Letestu - Dorsett
    MacKenzie - Brassard - Boll

    Tyutin - Johnson
    Erixon- Aucoin
    Prout - Goloubef

    Mason

    TWEETS FROM THE MORNING SKATE

    10:30 A.M. -- We're finishing up the morning skate!

10:15 A.M. -- From the line rushes, hard to get a good read on who sits on defense if Nikitin and Johnson are able to return. Cody Goloubef hasn't taken a regular rush - making him a possibility - but you never know until it's confirmed.

10:10 A.M. -- PROJECTED LINEUP: Here are today's line rushes from the Blue Jackets morning skate. Be advised, these are always subject to change.
    Umberger - Johansen - Foligno
    Calvert - Anisimov - Atkinson
    Prospal - Letestu - Dorsett
    MacKenzie - Brassard - Boll

    Extras: Drazenovic, Gillies

The defense pairs are rotating in/out with the rushes, and they depend on injury statuses for tonight.

10:00 A.M. -- Jack Johnson, Derick Brassard and Nikita Nikitin are all practicing with the team this morning, but their statuses for tonight's game won't be known until after the skate. All are taking regular line rushes, but we'll wait for official word from Todd Richards.

Sure looks as if Steve Mason will get the start in goal tonight against the Oilers.

9:30 A.M. -- #AskAJacket: We spent some time hanging out with Blue Jackets center Ryan Johansen last week and took some of your questions on Twitter. Jackets TV's Kate Osborne took those questions to "Joey," and we then produced this video for you. Take a look:

8:30 A.M. -- #CBJBlackTie look-back: We talked to several Blue Jackets players who attended this year's record-setting Black Tie Blue Jackets style show at Nationwide Arena, and got their thoughts on what was a very successful night for our pediatric cancer charities. Check it out:

8:15 A.M. -- GAME DAY PREVIEW: Jump start your game prep for tomorrow's clash with the Oilers by reading my game day preview on BlueJackets.com, which you can access right here.

GETTIN' STARTED EARLY: So I haven't moved on to from the thrilling finish to Sunday's game yet...which is why I've included video of Anisimov's game-winner against Colorado for you to enjoy one more time. Or 47 more, if you wish. It's up to you to re-live the #ArtyParty.

The Blue Jackets are in the midst of a stretch that sees them play nine of 10 at Nationwide Arena, including four straight - and the second of those four is tonight against the Edmonton Oilers, a team desperately seeking a victory. The Oilers have dropped back-to-back games and in disappointing fashion; they let a 2-0 lead in St. Louis get away from them on Friday, and Sunday in Minnesota, let a pair of quick third-period goals by the Wild derail them.

We'll continue to keep this page fresh with links, pertinent information, photos and interviews as we roll along toward game time. My suggestion? Keep it tuned to CBJ Today and this game day blog. If it happens on game day, we'll have it right here.
