1st Period: R.J. Umberger Goal
9:30 P.M. -- BOBROVSKY!
8:35 P.M. -- SECOND PERIOD ANALYSIS: Two periods complete and it remains a 1-0 lead for the Blue Jackets here at Nationwide Arena. The second period featured some quality chances for both sides but nothing in the back of the net, as both Schneider and Bobrovsky played well in the middle frame. The Canucks hold a 25-19 edge in shots on goal through 40 minutes, but the Blue Jackets kept the tempo up in the second period despite some long defensive zone shifts. With 20 minutes to play, Columbus needs more of what its gotten in the first two periods from its forwards to this point: pucks in deep behind the Vancouver defense and a commitment to being the first on the puck.

11:00 A.M. -- Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards just spoke to the media after today's morning skate and provided updates on tonight's lineup. Here are some highlights...
- Tim Erixon was feeling under the weather this morning and did not skate. He went to the doctor, received some fluids and he's expected to play tonight vs. the Canucks.
- Brandon Dubinsky skated today but isn't quite ready to make his return from a knee sprain.
- Fedor Tyutin is a game-time decision tonight, Richards said, and he's one of a few players battling the bumps and bruises of a hectic schedule and so many games in a shortened time frame.
- Nikita Nikitin is back in the lineup tonight.
And, oh yeah...Bobrovsky starts in goal.
10:30 A.M. -- The morning skate is wrapping up...we'll have more coverage after we talk to the players and coach Todd Richards. Stay tuned!
10:15 A.M. -- Here are the projected forward lines for Columbus tonight:
Calvert - Anisimov - Atkinson
Umberger - Johansen - Foligno
Prospal - Letestu - Dorsett
MacKenzie - Brassard - Boll
10:10 A.M. -- Sergei Bobrovsky looks to the tonight's starting goaltender.
10:00 A.M. -- The morning skate is under way at Nationwide Arena. Brandon Dubinsky and Nikita Nikitin are both skating, but it doesn't look like either is quite ready for a return tonight against Vancouver.
9:45 A.M. -- LET'S DO THIS: We're back! Just 48 hours after we got the last blog up and running, the Blue Jackets morning skate is about 10 minutes away on Nationwide Arena ice. The Vancouver Canucks are in town and I suspect they'll be an angry lot tonight, having dropped five straight games (0-4-1) and losing their firm grasp on top spot in the Northwest Division.
The Minnesota Wild are just three points back and closing fast, while the Canucks are desperate to pick up some points. They'll start Roberto Luongo tonight against the Blue Jackets, and I pointed out in today's preview that it's a little surprising given Cory Schneider's track record of success against Columbus in his career.
I'm headed downstairs to catch the skate, so make sure you stay tuned right here for the latest news, lineup and injury updates, photos, contests and more as we roll along on game day.
