BLUE JACKETS WIN 6-4!!!

RECORD ALERT

POST GAME QUOTES:

Vinny Prospal - "Everyone is smart enough to know what we're playing for right now."

Todd Richards - "I liked our first period. We had some mistakes but Mason made saves for us. We got contributions from everyone."

Post Game Audio Interviews (click name to listen) - Todd Richards | Steve Mason | Ryan Johansen

11:18 P.M. -- With a little more than seven minutes to play, it's been a scoreless third period to this point. The Blue Jackets have had to kill a couple of penalties but so far, so good.

10:58 P.M. -- MORE HIGHLIGHTS:
Watch Derick Brassard and Ryan Johansen score in the second for the Blue Jackets:
10:50 P.M. -- SECOND PERIOD ANALYSIS: Well, let's get the bad news out of the way first: Tim Erixon has suffered an upper body injury and won't return tonight, per the Blue Jackets' PR department. Columbus will finish tonight's game playing with five defensemen. But yeesh, what a crazy period:  the teams combined for seven goals, the Blue Jackets had four of them, and the visitors lead 5-3 after 40 minutes at the Saddledome. The Blue Jackets are getting some scoring from just about every line and their transition game has been very good, taking Flames mistakes and turning them into scoring chances down the other way. The highlight was a spectacular goal from Ryan Johansen, who was seconds removed from a penalty that allowed the Flames to pull within a goal. Johansen picked off a pass in the neutral zone and broke in on Kiprusoff, going forehand under the crossbar for a 5-3 lead.

10:55 -- WANNA WIN #NHL13?
Here's the low-down...tweet us @BlueJacketsNHL with your answer to this question (
WINNER: @nursejustice):

Dalton Prout dropped the gloves with which former Blue Jackets forward in tonight's game?

10:40 P.M. -- WICKED WRISTER:
Matt Calvert's wrister puts the Blue Jackets up 3-1:

10:30 P.M. -- VINNING! Check out Vinny Propsal's goal off a sweet pass from R.J. Umberger in the second:

10:25 P.M. -- The Flames cut the lead to one in the second, but the Jackets are still on top, 3-2.

10:20 P.M. --
The Blue Jackets are picking up the pace in the second period and getting more pucks behind the Flames defense, and we saw some opportunistic play by Umberger (and this is interrupted by a Matt Calvert SNIPE!) 3-1 Columbus.

10:00 P.M. -- Tied up at 1-1 in the second...

SNACK TIME!!!

CBJ FAN IN ENEMY TERRITORY!

9:50 P.M. -- GO SHORTY, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY:
Mark Letestu gave the Jackets a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal in the first period. Re-live it here...

9:47 P.M. -- FIRST PERIOD ANALYSIS: Making his first start since Mar. 5, Steve Mason has been very good so far for the Blue Jackets. He's made 11 saves to this point and the Blue Jackets have been tidy in front of him, limiting quality opportunities for the Flames and keeping most of their shots from distance and to the outside. Mark Letestu has the only goal, a shorthanded marker that was born from terrific forechecking pressure by Derek MacKenzie below the goal line. That pressure forced TJ Brodie into a bad turnover right to Letestu's stick, and he had a wide open net to deposit the lead goal for Columbus. The Jackets hold a 12-11 edge in shots after 20 minutes.

9:22 P.M. -- Solid start for the Jackets, as they hold a 7-3 shots edge at the 8:03 mark of the opening period in Calgary and just got a really nice shift from the Brassard line.

9:00 P.M. -- HERE. WE. GO!

6:00 A.M. -- RIGHT BACK IN THE SADDLE(DOME): The best part about last night's game is that it is now last night's game. That might not make a whole lot of sense, but it really sounded cool when we typed it out. Anyway, what we're trying to say is the Blue Jackets have a chance to erase the disappointment of a 6-4 loss in Edmonton by getting two points in Calgary tonight.

Remember the last time these two teams got together? It was fun.
