12:14 A.M. -- MID PERIOD UPDATE: The Ducks have a 2-1 lead in the third period on a weird, fluky goal that looked more like a three-quarter lob wedge than a hockey shot. But nonetheless, it counts after some quirky backspin and good fortune for the Ducks..the Jackets are generating chances with half the third period to play. UPDATE: MATT CALVERT TIES THE GAME!!!
Ducks lead 2-1 off one of the weirdest goals you'll ever see.
The THIRD BEGINS!
11:38 P.M. -- SECOND PERIOD ANALYSIS: The Blue Jackets were rewarded for a solid middle frame and are tied 1-1 with the Ducks headed to the third period in Anaheim. Blake Comeau scored his second big goal in as many games for the Jackets, re-directing a shot-pass from James Wisniewski in the high slot and inside the far post on Fasth. The most encouraging part of the second period was the Jackets establishing an offensive zone presence and spending long shifts in the Anaheim end. Their work paid off with the Comeau goal, but there are 20 important minutes to be played.
11:52 P.M. COMEAU SCORES -- Watch Blake Comeau's second-period goal tonight at Anaheim:

The battle continues in the second!
11:16 P.M. -- MID PERIOD UPDATE: This has been another solid period for the Jackets and they're doing some hard work in the offensive zone, but it's still a 1-0 lead for the Ducks halfway through the hockey game. More time being spent in the Ducks zone this period...
10:43 P.M. -- FIRST PERIOD ANALYSIS: A free-flowing first period is in the books at the Honda Center, and the Ducks hold a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play. The lone goal was a power play goal by Sami Vatanen, the young blueliner recalled this morning by Anaheim and it was a quick wrister through traffic that Bobrovsky never got a good look at. Columbus had its share of chances, too, and the Gaborik line was skating particularly well. Fasth tends to see the first puck, so it's up to the Jackets to generate more secondary chances around the net.
10:26 P.M. -- MID PERIOD UPDATE: The Ducks are going back on the power play here, but both clubs have had some quality chances and both goaltenders have been sharp. UPDATE: Ducks score on the PP...Vatanen.

6:30 A.M. -- THE PUSH CONTINUES: Top of the mornin' to you, Blue Jackets fans. Are you ready for another awesome game day? We certainly are and that's why the Game Day blog is fired up early today -- there's a rather significant hockey game going down in southern California tonight, and our job is to get you totally prepped for it.
Fresh off a ridiculously thrilling overtime win in Colorado, the Jackets are equal with the Red Wings (47 points) for the final playoff spot in the West. Detroit has the ROW tiebreaker but not the head-to-head, so points are crucial as this road trip continues.
Before we get going today - the Jackets are scheduled for a morning skate around 2:30 p.m. ET - let's re-live that Foligno game-winning goal because it was just so awesome:
