The first morning skate of the 2013-14 Blue Jackets season is in the books.

Opening night is mere hours away and the mood throughout the locker room is one of high anticipation. The players have sat around the last three days, watching other NHL teams get their seasons started and it has made them more than ready to drop the puck tonight against Calgary.

Here's what you already know: Sergei Bobrovsky is tonight's starting goaltender for the Blue Jackets. We'll wait and see from the Flames side, but Karri Ramo played last night in their 5-4 shootout loss in Washington. It could mean a start for veteran Joey MacDonald, but nothing is set in stone just yet.

Today's lines (with more info to come)...

Jenner - Dubinsky - Gaborik

Letestu - Anisimov - Comeau

Calvert - Johansen - Atkinson

Umberger - MacKenzie - Foligno

Johnson - Prout

Murray - Wisniewski

Nikitin - Savard

Bobrovsky

- Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards confirmed that Fedor Tyutin will not play tonight. In his spot, David Savard draws in over Tim Erixon. The decision wasn't an easy one, but Richards' reasoning: "we all thought (the coaching staff) that David had a better camp than Tim."

- No decision has been made on whether Tyutin travels to New York with the team tonight. It hasn't been ruled out, Richards said, but they'll know more later today.

- Does it matter that the Flames played last night? Nick Foligno said it's always a factor: "You want to get out to a good start and feed off our own energy, but we can't do anything crazy. It's getting back to our game, chipping pucks in and using our forecheck."

- Ryan Murray admitted that he didn't sleep well last night, but the excitement was overwhelming. "Been waiting for this," he said, while laughing at himself for not being able to fall asleep all that easily. He gets a pass this time.

- The Johansen-anchored line is one to watch tonight. All three players talked this week about how the makeup of the line is ideal and has elements you need in order to be successful: a shooter, a strong center, and a guy who's strong on the walls and can make havoc on the forecheck.
