COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Adrian Aucoin on Injured Reserve retroactive to January 29 and have recalled defenseman Cody Goloubef from the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, club Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Aucoin, who has collected two penalty minutes in seven games this season, suffered a lower body injury at Minnesota on January 29 and is listed as day-to-day.
Goloubef (pronounced GOH-luh-behf) has tallied four goals and six assists for 10 points with 28 penalty minutes and a +9 plus/minus rating in 21 games with Springfield this season. Columbus’ second pick, 37th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft, he made his NHL debut last season and logged 6:00 TOI and was +1 at St. Louis on Mar. 31, 2012.
Goloubef, 23, has registered 10-29-39 and 113 penalty minutes in 119 career AHL games. The 6-1, 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario played three seasons at the University of Wisconsin and collected 12-25-37 and 138 penalty minutes in 118 games from 2007-10. He helped the Badgers reach the 2010 NCAA championship game and also was a member of Team Canada’s gold medal-winning squad at the 2009 World Junior Championships.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Tuesday when they host the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings at Nationwide Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. ET.
