COLUMBUS, OHIO – For the seventh consecutive year, Columbus Blue Jackets players and their wives, along with local pediatric cancer heroes, will model the latest fashions in a charity style show to raise funds to support the fight against pediatric cancer. This year’s Black Tie Blue Jackets Style Show, presented by Kelly BMW and Capital Style, is set for Wednesday, February 27 and will be staged once again on center ice at Nationwide Arena. The event will celebrate ten local cancer patients this year, ranging in age between four and 16 years old.
The Blue Jackets players will be outfitted in formalwear by Romanoff’s Classic Tuxedos and this year’s fashions for the ladies will be provided by a mix of Columbus-based boutiques including Ladybird, Leal, Le Jeune Mariee, Rowe, and Thread in Grandview. The Heroes will be outfitted by Nicole’s for Children and DSW will provide footwear for all models. Fashions will be styled by Wardrobe Therapy, LLC and hair will be styled by the designers of Charles Penzone Salons. Proceeds will benefit the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation’s local Hats For Heroes program and related pediatric cancer research initiatives.
Players expected to appear in the show include Artem Anisimov, Cam Atkinson, Adrian Aucoin, Jared Boll, Matt Calvert, Derek Dorsett, Brandon Dubinsky, Nick Foligno, Colton Gillies, Ryan Johansen, Derek MacKenzie, Steve Mason, John Moore, Vinny Prospal and Fedor Tyutin. Players are subject to change. FOX Sports Ohio host Dave Maetzold will serve as event emcee.
The night begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and model meet & greet presented by Heidelberg Distributing. A sit-down dinner precedes the style show which also features an exclusive live auction. Inclusive dinner packages that include the pre-show reception, a commemorative gift and complimentary valet parking start at $250. After-five attire is the dress code for the evening. The fight against pediatric cancer remains the Blue Jackets Foundation's signature focus for much of its fundraising, programming, and grant-making efforts. Highlighted by the Hats For Heroes program, $1.3 million has been raised since 2000. Dollars raised currently fund a variety of support programs for pediatric cancer patients and their families, critical research projects and assistance in providing palliative care.
