COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that defenseman John Moore has been activated off Injured Reserve. The club has also announced that defenseman Cody Goloubef has been reassigned to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Moore, 22, has missed the past eight games since sustaining a shoulder injury during a morning skate at Chicago’s United Center on March 1. Columbus’ first pick, 21st overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft, he has recorded two goals and six assists for eight points with 14 penalty minutes in 82 career games with the Blue Jackets. He has picked up 0-1-1 and two penalty minutes in 13 appearances this season. The 6-3, 202-pound Winnetka, Illinois native has also tallied 9-26-35, 35 PIM in 102 career AHL games played with Springfield, including 3-6-9, 10 PIM and a +14 plus/minus rating in 24 games to start the 2012-13 campaign.
Goloubef, 23, has appeared in 10 games with Columbus this season, recording 1-0-1 in addition to 10 hits, six blocked shots and 12 shots on goal. He scored his first career NHL goal on Feb. 11 vs. San Jose. The Blue Jackets’ second pick, 37th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft, Goloubef has registered 11-30-41 and 117 penalty minutes in 123 career AHL games, including 5-7-12 in 25 appearances with the Falcons this season.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Saturday when they host the Phoenix Coyotes at Nationwide Arena.
