Quebec Pee Wee Blue Jackets Update 2
February 11, 2009 - The Trip Begins
Pee Wee Blue Jackets Quebec Team
Fresh off a weekend of home games against the Pittsburgh Hornets and two days of practice, the team departed Wednesday for Quebec City. Armed with a weeks worth of homework, videos, games, iPods and enough snacks to stock a convenience store, the kids' spirits were high as they embarked on their 15-hour drive to the famed city in the Great White North.
Out of town trips provide players with a unique and special opportunity to bond as a team and spend dedicated time together to prepare for their games. This trip is no different for the Quebec team as Head Coach Dale Jordan will be conducting individual and team conferences with the players.
Additionally, as the 'scholar-athlete' is a big part of the AAA program, it's not all about hockey. Coach Dale will also ensure that plenty of monitored study time is set aside for schoolwork, starting with the trip up.
Once the team arrives on Thursday, they will freshen up at the hotel then will be off to the Colisee to meet their billet families, drop off their equipment and get issued their credentials. The players will then depart to their new 'homes' for the week.
Each Quebec update includes a brief Player Profile. This feature of this profile is goaltender Connor Willette.
