BLUE JACKETS ANNOUNCE MONTH-LONG COUNTDOWN TO OPENING NIGHT<\/font><\/b>
Calendar includes player appearances, community events and five home pre-season games<\/span>

COLUMBUS, OHIO - In anticipation of the start of the 2005-06 National Hockey League season, the Columbus Blue Jackets are kicking off a month-long countdown celebration featuring a host of player appearances and community events leading up to Opening Night when the team hosts the Calgary Flames on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. Following is the calendar of events:
Sept. 13: "Drive to Opening Night" - The Blue Jackets and OhioHealth are teaming up with the American Red Cross for a blood drive at Nationwide Arena (inside the Front St. doors) from 3-9 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 1-(800)-GIVE-LIFE or visit the Central Ohio Region's Web site at www.BloodSavesLives.org.
Sept. 13: Training Camp opens - Team scrimmage will be open to the public free of charge beginning at 6 p.m. on the main ice at Nationwide Arena. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Sept. 16:
Blue Jackets Foundation Golf Classic at Double Eagle Club - At the Foundation's largest fundraising event of the year, attendees can golf with Blue Jackets players and broadcast personalities and each foursome will have the opportunity to meet legendary NHL Hall of Famer Bobby Orr. Sept. 16: Individual Games on sale - Tickets starting as low as $15 for all regular season games may be purchased at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office, the Blue Jackets Zones at Chiller Dublin, Chiller Easton, Chiller North, all Ticketmaster ticket centers, by phone at (614) 431-3600 or via the internet at www.BlueJackets.com and ticketmaster.com.
Sept. 18: Pre-season game at Nationwide Arena - Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Buffalo Sabres at 5 p.m.
Sept. 19: Pre-season game at Nationwide Arena - Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Pittsburgh Penguins at 7 p.m.
Sept. 20: Player autograph signing at The Blueline from 6-7 p.m. - Gilbert Brule, Columbus' first pick (6th overall) in 2005 NHL Entry Draft
Sept. 21: Special event at Columbus Children's Hospital to make major announcement regarding a partnership with the Blue Jackets Foundation - 3 p.m.
Sept. 22: Pre-season game at Nationwide Arena - Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Detroit Red Wings at 7 p.m.
Sept. 25: FSN Ohio pre-season broadcast: Blue Jackets at Chicago Blackhawks at 7 p.m. (Eastern time) - Play-by-play announcer Jeff Rimer and color analyst Brian Engblom make their FSN Ohio debut when they call the Blue Jackets' pre-season game live from the United Center in Chicago.
Sept. 30: Pre-season game at Nationwide Arena - Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Chicago Blackhawks at 7 p.m.
Oct. 1: Practice session at Chiller North - 11:45 a.m.
Oct. 2: Pre-season game at Nationwide Arena - Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Nashville Predators at 5 p.m.
Oct. 3: FSN Ohio "Meet the Team" Luncheon at Nationwide Arena - Fans are invited to have lunch with their favorite Blue Jackets players and enjoy a program that features a formal introduction of the entire 2005-06 team, an interactive panel discussion featuring players and coaches and concludes with an autograph session. The event begins at 11 a.m. To register, call 246-4168.
Oct. 5: Season Opener Viewing Party at Arena Sports Bar and Grill - Join Blue Jackets fans at to watch the FSN Ohio broadcast of the club's season opening contest on the road against the Washington Capitals at 7 p.m. The Blue Jackets, Bud Light, and The Brew 105.7 FM are teaming up to support the home team as they take to the ice to open the 2005-2006 season.  Join us at Arena Sports Bar and Grill inside GameWorks at Easton Town Center to cheer on the Blue Jackets as they take on the Washington Capitals on October 5th at 7:00 pm.  The party starts at 6:30, and there will be Bud Light specials and prize giveaways that will include tickets to the Blue Jackets opening night on October 7th at Nationwide Arena. Spin The Brew Prize Wheel for a chance to win other prizes such as tickets to other Nationwide Arena events as well as t-shirts and other gear from the Blue Jackets, Bud Light, and 105.7 The Brew.
Oct. 7: Home Opener - Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Calgary Flames at 7 p.m.
