TRAINING CAMP ROSTER
Team Blue had practice from 8:30 a.m., until 10 a.m., on the main ice at Nationwide Arena. Absent from Team Blue was Geoff Sanderson and Aaron Johnson, whom were added to Team Red for the Championship scrimmage this morning.
SCRIMMAGE
David Vyborny had a hat trick and assisted on another goal, as Team White defeated Team Red, 6-2, on Friday morning, at the Dispatch Ice Haus.The two teams battled but the game remained scoreless until 33:05, when Vyborny redirected a slap shot from Mark Hartigan, putting Team White up 1-0. In the second half, Team White added to the lead, as Bryan Berard scored on the power play, after a great feed from Vyborny, who put the puck right on Berard's stick, from behind Team Red’s net.
Team Red cut the lead in half six minutes later, when Geoff Sanderson recovered a loose puck and found an open Jamie Pushor, who lit the lamp, cutting the lead to 2-1.
Vyborny pushed the lead back to two goals, scoring on a rebound of another Hartigan shot, and Jared Boll padded the lead, scoring on a wrist shot, after receiving a great pass from Kirill Starkov on a three-on-two fast break.
Gilbert Brule cut the deficit to 4-2, scoring for Team Red at 74:06, on an assist from new-comer Adam Foote, but Team Red would get no closer.
Vyborny completed the hat trick at 75:58, off the third assist of the morning for Hartigan. Starkov completed the scoring, recovering a loose puck with less then a minute remaining.

“It was a real good pace. We saw a lot of high skill level, and Vyborny scored a couple of great goals. We are all really excited about what we have seen.”
On what has impressed him at training camp thus far…
“I have been really impressed with the overall play of the squad as a whole. A lot of guys are competing. In years past we have only had two or three guys battling for roster spots. Everyone is competing really hard this year, we are having lots of position battles going on.”
On today’s golf outing at Double Eagle…
“We are all looking forward to the outing. It is a lot of fun. It is a great event that is organized very well. I am really looking forward to playing that course today. We are four days into camp and it is nice to get out and have a little fun.”

Members of the team are participating in the annual Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation Golf Classic at Double Eagle today. The foundation's largest annual fundraising event also features an appearance by hockey legend Bobby Orr.
