The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-assigned left wing Joakim Lindstrom, center Ben Simon and defenseman Marc Methot to the Syracuse Crunch, the Blue Jackets’ American Hockey League affiliate, team President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. With the moves, the Blue Jackets now have 34 players remaining on their training camp roster.

The Blue Jackets, who are currently 2-5-0 in the preseason, return to action tonight as they host the Chicago Blackhawks at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. The club wraps up the preseason at home on Sunday against the Nashville Predators at 5 p.m.

Columbus' fifth regular season gets underway at the Washington Capitals on Wednesday, Oct. 5, with the home opener slated for Friday, Oct. 7, against the defending Western Conference champion Calgary Flames. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m.
