Columbus Opens Three-Game Swing Through California Tonight
Will Battle the San Jose Sharks at 10:30 p.m. ET
The Blue Jackets are 1-1 on the road in 2005-06, having dropped the season opener at Washington, 3-2, before defeating the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, 3-2. The Jackets will then face Anaheim on Friday and Los Angeles on Sunday, before returning home to face these very same Sharks on Oct. 21.
San Jose has started the season dropping two of its first three games on the road, losing at Nashville and Chicago, before defeating the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, 7-6. C Patrick Marleau (2-1-3 in 3 GP) and RW Nicholas Dimitrakos (2-1-3 in 3 GP) lead the team in scoring.
Tonight will mark the first of four meetings between the two clubs (tonight & 1/5 in San Jose, 10/21 & 3/28 at Nationwide Arena). The Jackets are 4-10-0-2 all-time vs. San Jose, and 1-6-0-1 in San Jose.
The game will be broadcast on the the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship stations 1460 The Fan and CD101 in Columbus.
