Free Agent Acquisition Matches Career High
Jan Hrdina scored two goals and Brian Berard added another, but Columbus could not overcome four goals scored by Anaheim, falling at the hands of the Ducks, 4-3 at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim on Friday night.
The Ducks tallied the first two goals of the evening, but second-period tallies by both Hrdina and Berard knotted the score at two apiece. Joffrey Lupul scored his second goal of the night for the Ducks at 7:29 of the third and Hrdina matched him at  15:53, but veteran Keith Carney scored at 17:24 and Anaheim held on for the 4-3 win.
For Hrdina, the two tallies matched his career high set three times previously, the last time being Nov. 20, 2002, with Pittsburgh against Montreal. Berard scored his second goal in his last three games as he leads the team with 18 shots on goal in five games as a Jacket.
Anaheim out-shot the Jackets, 36-19 on the evening, while Columbus finished a season-high 2-for-9 on the power play, killing off 5-of-6 Mighty Duck power plays.
Pascal Leclaire picked up his second loss of the season, stopping 32-of-36 shots.
