Blue Jackets Place Left Wing Rick Nash On Injured Reserve

Nash, 21, skated in three games this season with nine shots on goal. He missed 11 of the Blue Jackets first 12 games this season due to an ankle injury suffered during training camp. He started the Season Opener at Washington on Oct. 5, but left the game early after recording three shots on goal in 8:24 of ice time.
The first overall selection in the 2002 Entry Draft, Nash has scored 58-38-96 in 157 career NHL games. During the 2003-04 season he was named to the Western Conference All-Star Team, finishing the season tied for first in the NHL in goals (41) and first in power-play goals (19). He is the youngest player in NHL history to lead the league in goals. At the 2005 World Championships, Nash earned All-Tournament Team recognition after leading the tournament in goals (9) and ranking second in points (15).
