Jackets Recall Steven Goertzen From Syracuse
Goertzen, 21, has skated in nine games with the Blue Jackets this season, recording 10 penalty minutes and six shots on goal. He made his NHL debut with 9:55 of ice time on October 21 when the Blue Jackets defeated the San Jose Sharks. Goertzen has also played three games this season with Syracuse, posting five penalty minutes and a +1 plus-minus rating. A seventh round selection by the Blue Jackets in the 2002 Entry Draft, Goertzen made his professional debut last season with 2-7-9 and 100 penalty minutes in 57 games with Syracuse.
The Blue Jackets open a four-game homestand Wednesday night when they host the St. Louis Blues. Game time is set for 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101. The homestand continues with games against Edmonton (Friday) and Los Angeles (Sunday) before concluding with a re-match against St. Louis on Wednesday, November 16.
