TORINO, Italy – The U.S. Women’s National Team improved to 2-0 at the pre-Olympic Test Event in Torino, Italy, earning a 3-0 victory over Sweden today. Kelly Stephens (Seattle, Wash.) scored two of Team USA’s three power-play goals and Chanda Gunn (Huntington Beach, Calif.) made 14 saves to earn the shutout.

With 15 minutes gone in the first session and Team USA on the power play, Stephens took an Angela Ruggiero (Harper Woods, Mich.) pass behind the net and scored a wrap-around goal for a 1-0 U.S. lead.

Midway through the second stanza with the USA again on the power play, Ruggiero fired a shot from the blue line and upped the U.S. lead to two. Just four minutes later, Stephens scored her second of the night, potting a shot from the doorstep.
