Blue Jackets Recall Forwards Jaroslav Balastik and Mark Hartigan
Balastik, 25, has played in 15 games this season split between the Blue Jackets and Crunch. He has tallied 0-1-1, two penalty minutes and a +1 plus-minus rating in five NHL games and 2-1-3 with a +2 rating in 10 AHL contests. He has been "plus" or "even" in each of his last seven games for Syracuse. Balastik is in his first season in North America after leading the Czech Elite League in goal scoring the past two seasons. In 331 career games in the Czech Elite League, he registered 117-98-215 and 242 penalty minutes, including 30-16-46 and 74 penalty minutes in 52 games with Zlin in 2004-05.
Hartigan, 28, has split the season between Columbus and Syracuse. He recorded 1-0-1 with a +1 plus-minus rating and one shootout conversion in six NHL games and 4-5-9 with a +2 rating in eight AHL contests. Hartigan recorded 1-2-3 in two games this weekend, a pair of Syracuse wins. He has appeared in 40 career NHL games with 7-5-12 and 14 penalty minutes.
The Blue Jackets conclude a four-game homestand Wednesday night when they host the St. Louis Blues.
