Blue Jackets Recall Pascal Leclaire and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen
Lecalire joins club on emergency recall; Marc Denis day-to-day with a groin strain
Leclaire, 23, is 2-3-0 with a 2.99 goals-against average (GAA) and .910 save percentage (SV%) in six games with the Crunch this season. On Saturday, he made 36 saves to post his first shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over the Rochester Americans. He began the season with Columbus, appearing in two games with an 0-2-0 record, 3.56 GAA and .873 SV%.
Columbus' first pick, eighth overall, in the 2001 Entry Draft, Leclaire was 5-6-3 with a 2.34 GAA, .926 SV% and two shutouts in 14 games with the Crunch during an injury-shortened 2004-05 season. He is 36-45-9 with a 3.12 GAA and five shutouts in 100 career AHL games. He is 0-4-0 with a 3.54 GAA in four career NHL contests with the Blue Jackets.
Tollefsen (pronounced TOLL-ehf-sehn), 21, has appeared in 15 games with Syracuse this season, tallying 0-2-2, 43 penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating. He is tied for the team lead in plus/minus and ranks second in penalty minutes. Columbus' third pick, 65th overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft, he has registered 0-5-5 and 158 penalty minutes with a cumulative +6 plus/minus rating in 78 career AHL games.
A native of Oslo, Norway, Tollefsen made his professional debut last season with the Crunch, tallying 0-3-3, 115 penalty minutes and was +2 in 64 games. He spent the previous two seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League, registering 9-41-50, 167 penalty minutes and was +20 in 96 games.
The Blue Jackets return to action Wednesday at Nationwide Arena against the Nashville Predators. Game time is set for 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
