Blue Jackets Place Marc Denis, Alexandre Picard on IR
Re-Assign Ben Simon to Syracuse
COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed goaltender Marc Denis (groin) and left wing Alexandre Picard (concussion) on Injured Reserve and re-assigned center Ben Simon to the Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today.
Simon, 27, was scoreless in three games with the Blue Jackets this season, averaging 8:16 of ice time. He has also appeared in 13 games with the Crunch, posting 4-5-9 with two shorthanded goals, 12 penalty minutes, and a +3 plus/minus rating.
The Blue Jackets return to action tomorrow night when they host the Colorado Avalanche at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FSN Ohio with the Ice Breaker pre-game show beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
