Blue Jackets Recall Pascal Leclaire From AHL's Syracuse Crunch
Twenty-three year old netminder earned his first NHL win at Minnesota on Nov. 30
Leclaire, 23, has appeared in 13 games split between Columbus and Syracuse this season. He is averaging 30.7 saves per game in six NHL appearances with a 1-5-0 record, 3.77 GAA, and .893 save percentage. In seven AHL appearances, Leclaire has posted a 3-3-0 mark with a 2.82 GAA, .920 save percentage, and one shutout.
Leclaire started both games in net for Columbus last week, posting a 1-1-0 record with a 2.88 goals-against average and .923 save percentage as he stopped 72-of-78 shots faced and surrendered just two even strength goals. He made 32 saves and stopped 3-of-3 in the shootout to earn his first NHL win at Minnesota on Nov. 30. He made a career-high 40 saves in a 4-1 loss at St. Louis the following night. After being assigned to Syracuse on Dec. 2, Leclaire wrapped up the week with a 42-save performance for the Crunch in a 4-2 win over Philadelphia on Dec. 4.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday against the New York Islanders.
