Blue Jackets Place Defensemen Luke Richardson, Aaron Johnson on IR;
Assign Forward Mark Hartigan to Syracuse
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defensemen Luke Richardson and Aaron Johnson on Injured Reserve and assigned forward Mark Hartigan to the Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, Blue Jackets President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced tonight.
Richardson suffered a fractured jaw when he was struck by a puck during Wednesday's game vs. the Dallas Stars, while Johnson suffered a sprained knee in tonight's game vs. the Nashville Predators. Both players will be sidelined indefinitely.
The Blue Jackets return to action Monday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pre-sgame show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
