Russell\'s GWG Puts Canada In Gold Medal Game; Will Play Russia
U.S. Upset By Russia; Will Face Finland In Bronze Medal Game<\/span>

VANCOUVER - CBJ prospect Kris Russell scored the game-winning goal with 1:44 remaining in the first period and Canada held on for a 4-0 victory over Finland to advance to the Gold Medal game on Thursday. The team they were expected to play, the United States, with Ohio natives Nathan Davis and Tom Fritche, were upset by Russia, 5-1 yesterday, and will play for the Bronze.

Canada and Russia will play in the Gold Medal game on Thursday at 7 p.m. (ET) The U.S., meanwhile, will face Finland for the Bronze medal on Thursday at 5 p.m. (ET) CBJ prospect Petr Pohl and his Czech Republic team, will play today against Sweden for fifth place.

Blake Comeau, Kristopher Letang and Andrew Cogliano also scored for Team Canada, while goaltender Justin Pogge made 19 saves in the 4-0 shutout.

Fritche and Davis both went scoreless while Jack Skille scored the lone goal for the U.S. Nikolai Kulemin scored twice and Alexei Emelin, Sergei Shirokov and Nikolai Lemtyugov also scored for the Russians.

Russell, a defenseman, was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets with their third pick, the 67th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Pohl, a right wing, was selected by the Blue Jackets with their fifth pick, 133rd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Davis, from Rocky River, Ohio, is a sophomore at Miami University. Fritsche, younger brother of Columbus Blue Jacket forward Dan Fritsche and Parma, Ohio native, is a sophomore at The Ohio State University.
