Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch announced on Thursday that the American Hockey League has selected defenseman Andy Delmore and center Mark Hartigan to the Canadian AHL All-Star Team for the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic.

Delmore, 29, has appeared in 28 games with Syracuse this season, recording 6 goals, 29 assists and 28 penalty minutes. Delmore has also appeared in five games with Columbus, without recording a point. In 281 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Nashville, Buffalo and Columbus, Delmore has tallied 43 goals, 58 assists and 105 penalty minutes.

Delmore enters this week on a 13-game point streak, one shy of tying Lonny Bohonos’ franchise mark for most consecutive games with a point at 14. Bohonos’ streak was from Jan. 13 – Feb. 17, 1996 (15 goals, 8 assists). Delmore is tops in the AHL among defensemen with 35 points and 29 assists. Both totals also lead the Crunch.

Claimed off of waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets from the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 4, 2005, Delmore led all NHL defensemen in power play goals (14) and tied for the league lead among defensemen in goals (18) during the 2002-03 season. A native of LaSalle, Ontario, Delmore in 222 career AHL games with Fredericton, Philadelphia, Rochester and Syracuse, Delmore has 126 points (32g, 94a).

Hartigan, 28, has appeared in 26 games with Syracuse this season, tallying 12 goals, 22 assists and 32 penalty minutes. In 11 games with Columbus this season, Hartigan has tallied one goal and six penalty minutes. In 219 career AHL games with Chicago and Syracuse, Hartigan has registered 81 goals, 104 assists and 266 penalty minutes. A native of Fort St. John, British Columbia, Hartigan was re-signed by Columbus on Aug. 22, 2005.

Hartigan continues to climb the Crunch’s all-time lists, moving into a fourth-place tie with 10 game-winning goals. He is tied for fourth with 25 power play goals, is sixth with 66 goals and is eighth with 139 points. Hartigan extended his assist streak to seven games (10a) this past Saturday, one game shy of tying the franchise record of eight games set by Peter Schaefer from Dec. 13-31, 1997 (9a).

In twelve seasons, Syracuse has had 19 players participate in the AHL All-Star Classic. Previous participants include Lonny Bohonos and Scott Walker – 1994-95, Brian Loney – 1995-96, Larry Courville and John Namestnikov – 1996-97, Mark Wotton and Robert Dome 1997-98, Boris Protsenko and Valentin Morozov – 1998-99, Harold Druken and Chris O’Sullivan 1999-00, Mike Gaul – 2000-01, Derrick Walser and Duvie Westcott – 2001-02, Karl Goehring – 2002-03, Aaron Johnson – 2003-04, Alexander Svitov – 2004-05.

Of the 364 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 93 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Pavol Demitra, Rick DiPietro, Patrik Elias, Miikka Kiprusoff, Kari Lehtonen, Ryan Miller, Martin St. Louis, Jason Spezza, Eric Staal and Steve Sullivan.

The 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic will take place at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, home of the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, and will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League.
