Blue Jackets Re-assign Forward Mark Hartigan to Syracuse
Hartigan has picked up 1-0-1 with 12 penalty minutes and a -2 plus/minus rating in 14 games with Columbus this season. He currently leads Syracuse and is tied for 17th in the AHL in scoring with 17-26-43 and 30 penalty minutes in 29 games. He also leads the club with nine power play goals and is second in plus/minus at +8.
Signed as a free agent on July 16, 2003, Hartigan has 7-5-12 and 26 penalty minutes in 48 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Atlanta Thrashers. He has also registered 86-108-194 and 264 penalty minutes in 222 career AHL games. The former NCAA All-American and Hobey Baker Award finalist with St. Cloud State was Syracuse's top goal scorer in 2004-05 with 31-28-59 and 105 penalty minutes in 69 games.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Tuesday night when the Vancouver Canucks visit Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
