Blue Jackets Recall Two From Syracuse
Penner and Lindstrom Join Jackets For Tonight's Game Vs. LA
Lindstrom, 22, was a second round pick of the Blue Jackets in the 2002 Entry Draft. He has scored 9-17-26 with a +6 plus-minus rating, four power-play goals and two shorthanded goals in 36 games with Syracuse this season, his first full year in North America. He has also posted 6-10-16 with a +14 plus-minus rating over his last 18 games and has a “plus” or “even” rating in his last 21 contests.
The Skelleftea, Sweden native made his North American debut at the end of the 2004-05 season, scoring 4-4-8 in 13 games. He opened the season with MoDo of the Swedish Elite League and recorded 2-3-4 in 37 games before making the transfer to North America. In parts of five seasons in the Swedish Elite League, Lindstrom recorded 12-13-25 in 133 regular season games and 4-7-11 in 27 playoff games.
Penner, 23, has appeared in 25 games with the Crunch this season and is 13-7-1 with a 3.09 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. In his last two starts, Penner has posted a 1-1-0 record, stopping 56-of-60 (.933) with a 2.01 goals-against average. Last night, he made 28 saves in a 1-0 loss vs. Peoria. He is 21-19-1 with a 2.89 goals-against average in 48 career AHL games.
The Blue Jackets return to action on tonight when they host the Los Angeles Kings at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
