Gilbert Brule Named WHL Player of the Week

Blue Jackets prospect Gilbert Brule, the club's first round pick -- sixth overall -- in the 2005 Entry Draft, was named the WHL's player of the week for the week of Feb. 13 - 19. In three games during the week, Brule scored 5-5-10 with two game-winning goals.

Brule, who opened the season with the Blue Jackets, has recorded 14-10-24 in 16 WHL games this season, including 8-9-17 in nine contests during the month of February. 

The Vancouver Giants have won their last seven games and are12-2-0-2 in the 16 games with Brule this season. Vancouver, 41-14-0-6 on the season, is ranked No. 7 in this week's CHL Top-10 poll. The Giants lead the WHL's Western Conference by eight points and have already secured a playoff spot.
