Blue Jackets Recall Forward Alexandre Picard
Picard, Columbus's top pick in 2004 Entry Draft, added to the roster on emergency recall
Picard, Columbus' first pick, eighth overall, at the 2004 Entry Draft, made his NHL debut at Dallas on November 18 and collected six penalty minutes in two games with the Blue Jackets. In 45 games with the Crunch this season, he has registered 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points, including nine power play goals, and has added 52 penalty minutes with a +2 plus/minus rating.
Picard spent the previous three-plus seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, garnering 93-104-197 and 289 penalty minutes in 206 games with Sherbrooke and Lewiston. In 2004-05, he tallied a career-high 40-45-85 and 160 penalty minutes in 65 games with Lewiston. He ranked among the QMJHL leaders in points (T-8th), goals (T-6), assists (22nd), plus/minus rating (T-22nd, +20), game-winning goals (11th, 6), and shorthanded goals (2nd, 6).
