Blue Jackets Assign Forward Dan Fritsche To Syracuse
Fritsche, 20, has appeared in 51 games with the Blue Jackets this season, tallying four goals and five assists for nine points to go along with 22 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 14 games with the Crunch, collecting 2-3-5, 10 penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating.
The Parma, Ohio native was Columbus' second pick, 46th overall, at the 2003 Entry Draft. He spent most of the past four seasons playing in the Ontario Hockey League, where he registered 71-84-155 and 143 penalty minutes in 135 games and won the 2005 Memorial Cup championship with the London Knights. In addition, he was a member of Team USA's first gold medal winning team at the World Junior Championships in 2004 and played in the tournament again in 2005.
The Blue Jackets host the Calgary Flames at Nationwide Arena tonight at 7 p.m. The game will be televised live on FSN Ohio with the Ice Breaker pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be carried live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM (1460 the Fan) and WWCD-FM (CD101).
