Columbus Blue Jackets forward Sergei Fedorov is among the elite group of international sports and entertainment celebrities invited to play alongside World Cup legends in Soccer Aid, a match that pits England vs. Rest of the World to benefit UNICEF, on Saturday, May 27 at the venerable Old Trafford in Manchester, England.

The England team is captained by pop star Robbie Williams while outspoken Scottish celebrity chef and star of the recent reality show “Hell’s Kitchen” Gordon Ramsay will be at the helm of Fedorov’s Rest of the World team. Fedorov is the only hockey player represented on either roster. Other sports stars on the Rest of the World team include former Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson and ex-Formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine of Ireland. For complete roster information, visit www.itv.com.

The squads begin their respective training on Monday, May 22 with practice matches during the week leading up to the main event on Saturday, May 27. The teams’ training will also be the focus of a nightly program on England’s ITV network starting Monday, May 22 and culminating with the live broadcast of the Soccer Aid match at the end of the week.

Soccer Aid is raising funds for UNICEF's global health, education and protection work with vulnerable children. UNICEF works with partners in 155 countries, through long-term development and emergency work, to help children reach their full potential. UNICEF is funded entirely by voluntary contributions and the donations to Soccer Aid will enable UNICEF and partners to reach many thousands more children worldwide.
