Columbus Blue Jackets Activate Center Alexander Svitov Off Injured Reserve
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated center Alexander Svitov off Injured Reserve, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. Svitov suffered a shoulder injury in a preseason game vs. the Carolina Hurricanes on September 24.
Svitov, the third overall pick in the 2001 Entry Draft by Tampa Bay, joined the Blue Jackets during the 2003-04 season. He has tallied 6-13-19 and 78 penalty minutes in 103 career NHL games with Columbus and Tampa Bay, including 2-9-11 and 20 penalty minutes in 40 games with the Blue Jackets in 2003-04.
The Blue Jackets visit the Chicago Blackhawks tonight with game time set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
