OhioHealth INJURY REPORT: D Bryan Berard (back injury, surgery on Oct. 19) is expected to miss two to three months.

-The Blue Jackets snapped a four-game losing streak with a 2-0 win vs. Los Angeles on Oct. 27, improving to 9-4-1 in their last 14 games vs. the Kings.
-Saturday’s 1-0 loss at New Jersey dropped Columbus to 0-3-0 vs. the Eastern Conference this season. The Jackets don’t face another Eastern club until Nov. 24 at Philadelphia.
-After playing an NHL-low nine games in October (tied with Calgary and Boston), the Blue Jackets play 14 games in November, including eight at Nationwide Arena where they are 2-2-1 so far this season.
-The Blue Jackets enter Wednesday’s game vs. Colorado looking for just their second win all-time against the Avalanche (1-17-2). The Avs have earned a point in all 20 of the meetings, including Columbus’ 5-4 overtime win on Feb. 28, 2004.
-Columbus is 11-8-1 all-time vs. Calgary, including 7-2-1 at home.
-The last two times the Jackets visited Detroit, the club came away with points in games decided by shootouts. The club overcame a three-goal third period deficit to earn a 5-4 win on Mar. 25, 2006 and dropped a 6-5 decision on Apr. 7, 2006.

-G Pascal Leclaire posted a 1.34 goals-against average and .956 save percentage with one shutout in three games last week, stopping 87 of the 91 shots he faced. On Oct. 23, he made 29 saves in a 3-0 loss vs. San Jose in which two of the Sharks’ three goals came on the power play. On Oct. 27, he made 38 saves to record his first career NHL shutout as the Blue Jackets beat the Los Angeles Kings 2-0 despite being outshot 39 to 14 in the game. The following night at New Jersey, Leclaire stopped 20-of-21 shots in a 1-0 loss to the Devils. For the season, he is 3-4-1 with a 2.65 GAA and .912 SV% in eight games.
RW Nikolai Zherdev has tallied 2-1-3 in his last three games to give him 4-1-5 in seven games this season. He leads the club in goal scoring.
-D Ron Hainsey and D Adam Foote are the only Blue Jackets players who have logged 20:00 or more of ice time in all nine games this season. Foote leads the club at 25:10, while Hainsey ranks second at 24:12.
-D Anders Eriksson has tallied 0-4-4 in eight games and has registered an even or plus plus/minus rating in seven-of-eight games (-1, Oct. 14 at Minnesota). He leads the club at +2.
-After being held to 0-1-1 in his first five games as a Blue Jacket, LW Fredrik Modin has scored two goals in his last four games.
-RW David Vyborny continues to lead the club in scoring with 1-8-9 in nine games, which gives him 14-31-45 in his last 45 games dating back to last season.

D Bryan Berard is two points shy of 300 in his NHL career (71-227-298 in 554 games). RW Anson Carter is eight goals shy of 200 and five points shy of 400 in his NHL career (192-203-395 in 619 games).
D Adam Foote is three assists shy of 200 in his NHL career (61-197-258 in 873 games).

Tuesday, Nov. 7 – Book Jackets Celebrity Reading with Manny Malhotra: C Manny Malhotra will be reading to children as part of the Blue Jackets Book Jackets Program from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7 at the Reynoldsburg Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library (1402 Brice Road).
