OhioHealth INJURY REPORT: D Bryan Berard (back injury, surgery on Oct. 19) is expected to miss two to three months… D Duvie Westcott (broken finger, Nov. 3 vs. Calgary) is expected to miss six to eight weeks.


The Blue Jackets and Predators meet three times in six days from Nov. 15-20, marking their first clashes of the season. Columbus is 11-16-2 in the all-time series, including 7-6-1 at home. Fifteen of the games have been decided by one-goal or less. The teams have split the last 10 meetings with each winning five times.

Colorado won the first meeting of the season against Columbus, 5-3 on Nov. 1, despite being out-shot 44 to 22 in the game. The 22-shot differential was the worst for the Avalanche since they were out-shot 41 to 19 in a 6-1 win at San Jose on Jan. 4, 2003. The Jackets are 1-18-2 in the all-time series, earning a 5-4 OT win at home on Feb. 28, 2004.

Columbus enters the week having killed off 38 of the last 41 opponent power plays (92.6 pct.) in its last eight games.

The Jackets have scored a power play goal in five of its last six games (8-45, 17.8 pct.) and had done so in five-straight games prior to going 0-of-8 at Chicago on Nov. 12.

Anson Carter’s goal at 13:37 of the second period vs. Edmonton on Nov. 10 was the 1,000th goal in Blue Jackets history. Rick Nash and Sergei Fedorov picked up assists on the goal.


RW Dan Fritsche set a career-high with 1-2-3 Nov. 9 at St. Louis, scoring Columbus’ first shorthanded goal of the season, which was also the game-winner.

D Rostislav Klesla registered the first multi-goal game of his career with two Nov. 9 at St. Louis.

C Sergei Fedorov has collected 2-4-6 in his last six games after being held without a point in his first three contests this season.

LW Rick Nash had a three-game point scoring streak (1-2-3) snapped at Chicago on Nov. 12. In his last seven games, he has fired off 31 shots and notched five or more shots four times during that span. He leads the club with 55 shots on goal.

G Fredrik Norrena made his second career NHL start at Chicago on Nov. 12 and stopped 18-of-19 shots in a 1-0 loss. In his last two appearances, he has turned aside 28-of-29 shots (.966 save percentage) in 78:24 of action.


D Bryan Berard is two points shy of 300 in his NHL career (71-227-298 in 554 games).

RW Anson Carter is seven goals shy of 200 and four points shy of 400 in his NHL career (193-203-396 in 625 games).

D Adam Foote is two assists shy of 200 in his NHL career (61-198-259 in 876 games).


Monday, Nov. 13 Huntington Bank Player Appearance – LW Jason Chimera and team mascot Stinger will meet fans and sign autographs at the grand opening of the Huntington Banking Office in Powell (3481 O’Connell Street) on Monday, Nov. 13, from 3-4 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 17 vs. Colorado – Giant Eagle Turkey Shoot: All fans in attendance can take the ice immediately following the game and participate in the annual Giant Eagle Turkey Shoot to win a $10 Giant Eagle gift card just in time for Thanksgiving. All fans will also receive inflatable clappers courtesy of Texas Pete’s Hot Sauce when they arrive at Nationwide Arena that night.

Nov. 20, 22 & 25 – Toys For Tots Toy Drive: The Blue Jackets are teaming with U.S. Marine Corps Reserve again this year in support of the Columbus Toys For Tots organization. The Marines will be on hand at Nationwide Arena to collect new, unwrapped toys during Blue Jackets home games on Nov. 20, 22 and 25.
