Blue Jackets Recall Two from Syracuse
The Columbus Blue Jackets have added defenseman Filip Novak and goaltender Ty Conklin to the roster on an emergency recall from the Syracuse Crunch, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Monday.

Novak, 24, is scoreless with a +1 plus/minus rating in one game for Columbus this season. He has tallied 1-12-13 and 41 penalty minutes in 22 games with the Crunch. The Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, native was the New York Rangers’ first pick, 64th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He has registered four penalty minutes in 12 career NHL games, including 11 with the Ottawa Senators in 2005-06. He has 20-84-104 and 264 penalty minutes 212 career AHL games.

Conklin, 30, has a 2-10-1 record with a 3.33 goals-against average and .905 save percentage in 14 games with the Crunch this season. The Anchorage, Alaska, native signed as a free agent with the Blue Jackets on July 6, 2006, after spending five seasons in the Edmonton Oilers organization. In 60 career NHL games, he has posted a 27-19-5 record with a 2.49 GAA and .905 SV%.
