Blue Jackets Recall Platt
Platt leads Crunch in goals and power play goals, ranks second in assist and points
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Geoff Platt from the Syracuse Crunch, the clubâ€™s American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Tuesday.
Platt, 21, has collected two penalty minutes in three games with the Blue Jackets this season and has totaled 0-5-5 and 18 penalty minutes in 17 career NHL games with Columbus. He currently leads Syracuse in goals and power play goals (eight), while ranking second in assists and points having tallied 16-13-29 with 41 penalty minutes in 33 games. In 2005-06, he ranked third on the Crunch in scoring with 30-35-65 and 58 penalty minutes in 68 games as a rookie.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the St. Louis Blues at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET with live coverage on FSN Ohio beginning with the IceBreaker pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. Coverage also includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately following the game.
