Blue Jackets Assign Platt to Syracuse
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Geoff Platt to the Syracuse Crunch, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Monday.
Geoff Platt, 21, has collected two penalty minutes in six games with the Blue Jackets this season and has totaled 0-5-5 and 18 penalty minutes in 21 career NHL games with Columbus. He currently leads Syracuse in goals and power play goals (eight), while ranking second in points having tallied 16-13-29 with 41 penalty minutes in 33 games. In 2005-06, he ranked third on the Crunch in scoring with 30-35-65 and 58 penalty minutes in 68 games as a rookie.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Tuesday when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks. Game time from United Center is 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live on the VERSUS Network. The game will also be broadcast on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101 with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
