Novak Recalled from Syracuse
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have added defenseman Novak, Filip Filip Novak to the roster on emergency recall from the Syracuse Crunch, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. Novak is expected to be the lineup for tomorrow night’s game at Nashville.
Novak, 24, is scoreless with two penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in four games with Columbus this season. He has tallied 3-20-23 and 64 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Crunch. The Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, native was the New York Rangers’ first pick, 64th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He has registered six penalty minutes in 15 career NHL games, including 11 with the Ottawa Senators in 2005-06. He has 22-93-115 and 285 penalty minutes 227 career AHL games.
The Blue Jackets return to action Thursday when they visit the Nashville Predators. Game time is 8 p.m. ET with live coverage on FSN Ohio beginning with the Ice Breaker pre-game show at 7:30 p.m. Coverage also includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately following the game.
