Lindstrom and Wilson Show Off Skills for PlanetUSA

Binghamton, NY – Crunch left wing Joakim Lindstrom and defenseman Clay Wilson helped lead the PlanetUSA team to a 15-9 victory in the CCM AHL All-Star Skills Competition Sunday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

Lindstrom took part in the CCM U+ Fastest Skater, Rbk 9k Pump Skate Pass and Score and the Toyota Breakaway relay. In the CCM U+ Fastest Skater competition, Lindstrom registered a time of 14.634 seconds.

Lindstrom and his team of Lake Erie's T.J. Hensick and Portland's Bobby Ryan registered two goals on three opportunities in the Rbk 9k Pump Skate Pass and Score.

In the Toyota Breakaway Relay, Lindstrom made a move around Albany goaltender Michael Leighton, but shot the puck wide on the backhand.

Wilson participated in the CCM U+ Stick Rapid Fire and Toyota Breakaway Relay.

In the Rapid Fire event, Wilson scored on three of five shots against Houston's Nolan Schaefer. He was later denied by Schaefer in the Toyota Breakaway Relay.

Canadian forward Mark Mancari of the Rochester Americans shattered the AHL record in the Rbk O-Stick Hardest Shot event with a blast clocked at 102.8 miles per hour.

Manchester's Gabe Gauthier posted just the second 4-for-4 effort ever in the Rbk Sickick Stick Accuracy Shooting competition, Toby Petersen of the Iowa Stars took the CCM U+ Skate Fastest Skater title with a time of 14.001 seconds, and PlanetUSA captain Keith Aucoin of the Albany River Rats won the individual InGlasCo Puck Control Relay.

Milwaukee's Pekka Rinne took the Rbk XPulse Top Goaltender award by stopping 16 of 19 Canadian shots on the night. PlanetUSA won its fourth Skills Competition in the last five years.

The Crunch's next game is Friday, February 1 as they travel to Albany to take on the Albany River Rats.
