Columbus Blue Jackets Recall Defenseman Marc Methot from American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Marc Methot from the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Scott Howson announced January 28.
Methot, 22, has appeared in six games and recorded six penalty minutes with the Blue Jackets this season. He has also tallied 2-1-3 and 52 penalty minutes in 40 games with Syracuse. Columbus' seventh pick, 168th overall, in the 2003 Entry Draft, he made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in 2006-07 and collected 0-4-4 and 12 penalty minutes with a +5 plus/minus rating in 20 games. In 159 career AHL games, he has registered 5-27-32 and 183 penalty minutes with the Crunch.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Tuesday when they host the Phoenix Coyotes at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET.
