Davidge Dishes about the Chicago Loss

November 8

By the way, the dinner the other night in Chicago was Ditka's… a very good meal, nice savory steak and easy to digest, unlike last night's performance.
The Hawks beat us for most of the game with speed, energy and transition. Weathering a storm in period #2 with total domination in the defensive zone by the Hawks. The CBJ was able to recover for a couple of minutes to go up 2-1 in a span of 1:25 to start the third, but the flood gates opened for four unanswered by the Hawks. Turnovers, turnovers and a few more of turnovers were in the cards by a few of the CBJ players, something that has not been the custom of the team this season.

Coach Ken Hitchcock and his staff are breaking down more tape, with the conclusion being the same. A tweak here, a line up shuffle there are definitely in the crystal ball for the Detroit game.

Will Weber, 2nd round pick of the '07 draft was our guest between periods one and two. Playing in the USHL for the Chicago Steel, Will is preparing for his transition to Miami in the fall of '08.

Kevyn Adams suffered a serious ACL/MCL injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the season. What a tough break for the veteran who is a mainstay in the leadership department of the Hawk room. He is also one of the classiest gentleman in the NHL.

Fredrik Norrena played solid for the majority of the game, but a high backhand off the stick of Brent Seabrook on the stick side proved to be the game winner. Three Hawk D and Rostislav Klesla for the CBJ were involved in the scoring. The addition of the D on the rush as well as the offensive zone cycle has to be a prominent adjustment in today's game if scoring is going to take place. Overload, out man, and finding the seams are the key components of creating some initial opportunities on the offense and we learned that against Chicago!

Off to Detroit, where Joe Louis Arena will be greeted by an anxious and energetic visitor… us.

The CBJ coaches, players and even the broadcast crew will prepare accordingly to slay the almighty Winged Wheels!!
