What to Look for from the Hurricanes
The Hurricanes come into NWA with two former CBJ's. Trevor Letowski was a mainstay on the original energy line with Manny Malhotra and Jason Chimera. He was not resigned by the club. He also tied the knot this summer to wife Amy in his hometown of Thunder Bay Ontario.
Ray Whitney was a fan favorite with his skill and wizardry around the net. A PP specialist was demanding a hefty pay raise and was soon gobbled up by the Detroit Red Wings. The car collector loves his pride with a '70 Roadrunner and a '69 Chevy Camaro.
Two time Selke Award winner and captain Rod Brind'Amour at age 37 is playing solid hockey. He is two points from his 1100th of his 19 year career.
Eric Staal is the sixth fastest Hurricane to get to 100 goals for his career. He did it is 268 games. Former CBJ Kevin Dineen accomplished that same feet in 197 games, and former Cincinnati Stinger Blane Stoughton took only 152 games.
NYI coach, Ted Nolan's son Brandon could be in the lineup tonight. He was called up on Dec. 22 and collected an assist in his debut.
Brett Hedican will be lost for a few weeks with a knee sprain. He will not be short of attention. Former figure skating champion and wife Kristi Yamaguchi will be by his side.
If you want to listen to one of the NHL's best play-by-play broadcasters, click on and get an earful of Hall of Famer Chuck Kaiton. His style is unique and a voice that some old time listeners will recall as the voice of the Hartford Whalers and in my era, the Michigan State Spartans.
Come and see us battle the Southeast Divison leaders!
