Not A Day Off
Practice today was intense, good flow and some battles. The only player not to be on the ice was Sergei Fedorov… you can add Andrew Murray as a possibility for Tuesday, but they will need to activate him in some manner before the game.
Here is a look at the lines!
Talking with Freddy Modin, he feels pretty good considering being off for three months. His body is still catching up with his mind.
He also commented on the smarts of Brassard and his skill level. He was also talking about team building and how this squad is learning the lessons of winning. There is a fine line, and his statement that it has to be a team of all and not just ones!
Hitch was asked about the top line (see above) He says it is OK, but Fedorov will be there for the long term (unless instant magic) once back from his concussion like symptoms. He emphasizes his line combinations are dictated by the opposing team's defensive pairings and how his team is producing on the score board.
Hitch likes Brassard because he "calls… he wants… he demands the puck!" with some teaching and continued work on his game eventually the instincts will take over… he is not like he is in training camp, he does have 20 games in the AHL which helps the foundation.
The broadcasters had a huge laugh/cry/scare/situation today on the way to the AA Center. Out of the 10 minute ride, we do have a new nickname for Jeff Rimer… just for the day… we will simply call him "Archie".
Stay tuned!! The Stars are coming off a huge Anaheim win 5-2. We owe them one!
*Throughout the season, AAA will bring you the Broadcaster's Blogs - "Davidge Dishes" and "Rimer Ramblings".
