The Western Conference

Anaheim/Detroit

Anaheim is starting to get things going. Everybody knowing their role, they are very dynamic and possess exactly what it takes to knock off the Stanley Cup defenders.  They have continued from almost not getting to the playoffs, to turning into fan favorites.  Detroit will have to have Osgood steal a couple of games and get some support scoring in short order.

Chicago/Vancouver

This is my favorite series.  Do they play hard nosed?  Do we play with a little finesse to try and win?  With Sami Salo out of the lineup, can Bieksa step up his offensive additions?  Each game has had a change in identity each night.  Special teams are going to determine the winner.  Ryan Kesler is one of the best players on the ice and can play any type of game!!

Eastern Conference

Boston/Carolina

What Carolina did to NJ is now translating into an attitude.  That attitude is we have been there before and we know what it takes...right Eric Staal?  Boston needs a better showing from the leadership group, especially Chara.  He is having a difficult time defensively.

Pittsburgh/Washington

Pittsburgh works hard. Pittsburgh needs to have a goaltender settle down, and secondary scoring is a must besides the likes of Malkin and Crosby.  Washington is getting great tending from Var---LA---Mov.  At 21, does it not seem that this is the time for goalies to shine?  Ovechkin has not disappointed anyone...Federov is sucking up his age excuse and is determined to lead....and David Steckel is making Ohio State very proud!!
