Blue Jackets Look to Avoid Avalanche, Don Cherry on 1460 The Fan with Jeff Rimer
The Blue Jackets look to end a brief two game losing streak tonight against the Avalanche, the team that they beat a week ago at Nationwide in one of the Jackets most memorable third period comebacks.
Look for some positive lineup changes tonight. Both Manny Malhotra and Jiri Novotny return to the lineup tonight and they will be welcome additions!!! Manny has missed six games and Novotny eight games, and both will help killing penalties, winning faceoffs and at five-on-five. Manny should also help get Jason Chimera going. Chimera has gone 12 games without a goal... but I thought he had one of his better outings Monday against the Ducks.
Fredrik Norrena gets the start in goal... he has won both of his recent appearances. Jose Theodore gets the start for the Avs despite giving up five goals in the 9-5 win Sunday against the Blues.
Kris Russell returns to the lineup tonight while the likely scratches are Gilbert Brule and Ole-Kristian Tollefson.
Be tuned in at 3 p.m. on 1460 The Fan for the weekly Coach's Show with Ken Hitchcock... I will have my hands full dealing with two colorful coaches in Hitch and the one and only Don Cherry!
