BLUE JACKETS PROSPECT ADAM PINEAULT STARS IN TEAM USA EXHIBITION VS FINLAND
Adam Pineault, selected by the Blue Jackets in the second round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, had a strong start to USA Hockey's Junior Evaluation Camp, scoring one goal and assisting on another in a 5-3 Team USA-Blue win over Team Finland on Monday. With the game tied 1-1 late in the second period, Pineault set up Shawn Weller to put Team USA-Blue up 2-1. Just 0:44 later Pineault netted an unassisted goal of his own to give the US a two-goal advantage.

Ohio State goaltender -- and Cleveland native -- Ian Keserich split time in net with Jonathan Quick. Keserich started the game and stopped 16 of 17 shots in 29:26 of action. Fellow Buckeyes Tom Fritsche (Parma) and Domenic Maiani also skated in the win, with Fritsche tallying an assist on Robbie Schremp's third period goal to seal the win.

In the second game of the day, USA-White shutout Sweden 5-0. Miami of Ohio forward -- and Cleveland native -- Nathan Davis picked up an assist on the game-winning tally 1:36 into the game. USA-White added two more first period goals and then single tallies in the second and third periods. Cory Schneider and Jeff Frazee split time in net for the US.

The Evaluation camp runs from August 6 - 13 and will feature scrimmage games against Under-20 squads from Finland and Sweden. The US contingent is split into two teams, USA-White and USA-Blue. Participating players are candidates for Team USA's entry into the 2006 World Junior Championships this winter (Dec. 26 - Jan. 5). Pineault was a member of Team USA's World Junior squad last season, posting 0-1-1 in seven games.
