Jody Shelley and Stinger Help Kick Off the Holiday Season
Both Participate in the Lighting of Downtown Columbus
The Blue Jackets were proud to partner with Capitol Crossroads to help downtown Columbus celebrate its own holiday launch with the lighting of the official Statehouse holiday tree, the first skate on the open-air ice rink, Skate on State, and the first turn of a 75-foot tall Ferris wheel both located on State Street between Third and High streets on Tuesday night.
Jody Shelley and Stinger participated in the lighting ceremony from 5–5:45 p.m. for the Statehouse/Downtown Columbus on the Statehouse steps facing High Street., before Shelley and Huntington Bank officials unveiled Nutcracker Blvd.?
The event featured a 45-minute ceremony on the steps of the Statehouse, and an open-air ice rink, ferris wheel, and small holiday village, which was to open, had the weather cooperated.
Skate on State and the Ferris wheel are now open daily through Jan. 1 during the following hours: weekdays 4pm – 10pm (with a Friday lunch skate from 11:30am – 1:30pm); holiday vacation days and weekends 10am-10pm; and Thanksgiving and Christmas 12pm – 6pm.
