Pick Rick and Nik for NHL All-Stars
2006-07: Nine goals with 10 assists for 19 points.
>Nash, the fourth-year left winger, has scored a CBJ franchise-best 98 goals with 71 assists for 169 points in 235 career games with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Since being the first pick of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Nash has led the team in goals the last two seasons, with 41 in 2003-04 and 31 in just 54 games in 2005-06. His 41 goals in 2003-04 gave Nash a share of the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy, awarded to the league's top goal scorer as Nash tied Ilya Kovalchuk and Jarome Iginla for the NHL lead. Nash was the youngest in NHL history to lead the league in goals. His 31 goals a year ago made Nash the first player since 2002-03 (Keith Tkachuk, 31 goals in 56 games), and just the sixth in the last 10 years, to record 30 goals in a season when playing in fewer than 60 games.
The year Nash won the scoring title, he became the first teenager to net 40 goals in the NHL since 1987-88 (Jimmy Carson) and recorded the eighth-most career goals by a teenager in NHL history (58). His productive season made him an All-Star in 2004 representing the Western Conference. Nash was the first teenager to play in the NHL All-Star Game since Quebec’s Owen Nolan (19 years, 340 days) and Pittsburgh’s Jaromir Jagr (19 years, 337 days) in the 1992 contest. At 19 years, 237 days old on the day of the game, Nash was the youngest All-Star Game participant since Toronto’s Wendell Clark (19 years, 102 days) in 1986.
